If you're tired of your daily schedule dominated by the different times your favorite TV shows are on (or if they aren't on the air anymore) or if you're sick of spending $20 at the movie theater for a movie you are unsure that you will enjoy; then you can watch almost any movie or TV show online for free. With the relatively recent dawn of the information age, it is now possible to do so. There are many sites that have free access to movies and TV shows, it's just a matter of finding them. Here's how to save your valuable time and cash and watch movies and TV online for free:

- Make sure you have all the needed software/plug-ins. (You'll need Adobe Flash Player, DivX, Windows Media Player/VLC Media Player, and you may also need QuickTime and Real Player, however those are optional.)
- Choose your site:
- Choose a TV show or movie from the list of options and there you go.
- Or search through all sites using free online streaming search engine.
- Find a working version video of what you are searching for and you are done.
- Sometimes sites specifically designed to link to episodes of just one TV show have more complete listings than sites that list to many shows, so just Google, "Watch ..." and then the show you want to watch. For example: Avatar: The Last Airbender or Family Guy. Note: This may only work for fairly popular TV shows.
- You may need to check more than one site, since a listed movie or TV show may not actually be available when you go to play it.
- Use your favorite web browser to navigate to the free movie site. Firefox may be preferred as it can be faster in many situations, but some media players that the sites use may work best, or only, with Internet Explorer.
- Youtube has a wide selection of user uploaded movies, but they will typically be divided into parts due to the 10 minute time limit.
- A computer.
